Project slide: The Connexions Website
was inaugurated on 29. March 2001 to provide the New Mexico Tech community with a virtual meeting place to learn about and address women's issues.
Although New Mexico Tech does not yet have a women's resource center, this website and the community that visits and contributes to it will begin to generate public awareness and understanding of women's issues at New Mexico Tech and in the larger communities we inhabit.
Ideally, the website will be updated several times weekly. Websites with constantly changing news items and features are much more likely to draw repeat visitors... and these repeat visitors are then much more likely to become contributors. Since a community is not merely a one-way conduit of information, these contributors will be essential to the health and success of Connexions.
