I am William Laub. I make the stuff on this website. In the past, I have used C++ with openGL/SDL. Now I use SFML instead of SDL. My preferred IDE is gedit and a command line. Nothing I do is complex enough to warrant a big fancy IDE.

I started programming in 1999 with FORTRAN and Visual Basic. I didn't do much with either, but did acquire the basics of computer programming and develop enough of an interest to learn C++ in 2003. I continued learning C++ for the next few years by applying it to scientific computing. In 2007 I learned SDL to help visualize data and made a couple of very simple games, but it wasn't until I played Cave Story (lol) later that year that I finally started seriously learning to make video games. My games are all either small or incomplete. This seems to be a Thing.

As of 2011, I am an undergraduate student of Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. I am just finishing my degree in EE and just starting in Math. As a result, I haven't spent as much time on video games as I used to, and my interests have shifted somewhat with the result that this website's title may be a little descriptive than it once was. I still spend a little bit of time working on video games, but I expect that in the near future the most interesting items on this website will be gadgets and software relating to musical performance and synthesis, because that is where my interests lie now.

There are two games I still aim to complete in my lifetime:
Balding Man - an adventure game in which a balding man must overcome his disability.
Grazerbeam - a bullet hell music-based shmup for the Pandora featuring music by Aeternity.

I make no promises, because I know I won't keep them.
