Cooking Shows on Television

Whenever we watch cooking shows on television, we feverishly write down everything about a specific dish: ingredients, amounts of ingredients, required utensils, cooking times and temperatures, secret tips, etc., But invariably something gets left out, or written down wrong, or written out of order, and the result is often inedible (even though the chefs make it all look SOOO easy).
Traditional mathematics teaching in classrooms often results in similar frustrations on the part of our students. In this presentation, we will discuss a new approach to content delivery in the mathematics classroom. Called the “Interactive Notetaking System,” or INS, our method is efficient, both teacher-friendly and student-friendly, and highly effective.
