Scheduling a TCC Managed Room

Please read this entire section as there are some special cases that may apply if the TCC is not open when you want to use the room. (The Computer Center hours can be found on the TCC web page.)

To schedule use of TCC user areas (like Speare 5, or Fidel 130), or the Speare Conference room (Speare 102), contact Jan Anderson (835-5735, jan@nmt.edu) in the TCC main office (Speare 117).

To schedule use of other TCC managed rooms (e.g. the computer classrooms) you will need to contact the Registrar's Office (835-5133). Once a room has been booked for your use email will be sent to the TCC (at "tcc-rooms"), and you, as notification of the times set aside for you (and if needed we will notify Campus Police). If the room is going to be used when the TCC is closed you will also need to check out a set of keys, from the Registrar's Office (please do not ask for, or accept, the alarm code to the room as that code belongs to Campus Police, or some other authorized Tech entity, and is not to be given out).

There are four cases to consider when reserving a TCC managed room. These cases are derived from the Computer Class Room Policy (which is listed as an appendix to the UC Open Handbook).

The TCC is open the entire time you will be using the room.
This is the simplest case. The User Consultant will make sure that the room is open on time and closed when you're scheduled to be done (if you run over schedule then you will need to coordinate securing of the room with Campus Police if the TCC is closed).

The TCC is open before the beginning of your scheduled use of the room, but closed before your scheduled time is up.
The User Consultant will have the room open for your use about ten to fifteen minutes before your event is scheduled to start.

When your event is finished you can contact contact Campus Police (-5434) and wait for an officer to show up, OR (in rooms other than Cramer 101 and 120) you should be able press "#1" on the alarm pad after all doors are closed and locked, and motion sensors don't detect any motion, to alarm the room. If you choose to have Campus Police secure the room (mandatory for Cramer 101 and 120 as a code is required) you will need to wait for an officer as Campus Police is not likely to have a key for the room and you'll need to be there so the officer can get inside to set the alarm and make sure a light is left on (and you don't want to leave the room open once the event is done).

The TCC is closed when your event is scheduled to begin, but will be open when your event is scheduled to finish.
In this case you will need to wait for a Campus Police officer to show up prior to your opening of the door to the room so that a person is there who can unarm the alarm before people start entering the room. (Please do not enter the room until the officer has unarmed the alarm as he needs to protect the alarm code.)

The TCC will not be open before your event is scheduled to start and TCC will not be open when your event is scheduled to finish.
In this case you will need to wait for an officer to unalarm the room (as described above), and you will also need to wait for an officer to alarm the room when you are done or use the "#1" keys on the alarm pad (as described above; noting that "#1" does not work for Cramer 101 or 120).
