Can't remotely access maple via ssh

What I suggest below is not really a solution.   maplew is trying to free things that it shouldn't.   The environment variable setting discussed just tells the program to keep going anyway, but there could be problems down the line.   Bryan built our maple package, so I defer to him.

** Hi there,
**
** last semester I was able to remotely use maple by:
** 1. localprompt> ssh -X rainbow.nmt.edu
** 2. rainbowprompt> maple -cw
**
** Now, I see maple fire up for a split second, then it dies and gives
** the errors shown at the bottom to the terminal.
**
** I can run things like "xeyes" and "xclock" just fine, so I'm guessing
** the problem is not on this end.
**
** Any ideas? I'd like to be able to remotely run maple once in a while
** in this manner.

MALLOC_CHECK_=1 maple -cw

  Cannot print from xmaple

From John Weber, Mon Aug 28 09:17:39 2006 Subject: TicketID#20060824153037

Here's what is going on when you get a No print service Found error message from Maple.

Maple and Xmaple are not officially supported under Fedora.   The installation utility needed a binary edit just to get it to run.   Xmaple only shows printers if they are configured using the CUPS print system which is incompatible with our LPRng print system.

The only thing I can suggest is a work around by exporting the file to either HTML or LaTex from the file->export menu.

The required TeX style files are in /usr/local/maple-10/etc.   I did a simple test that worked by naming the required file when LaTeX asked me for the missing file.   Here's an excerpt of the session.   You should be able to adjust your TeX path or something to find these files automatically.
