Yes, it would be nice if the mount points were fixed (they're not in fstab, or mtab), although it is not necessary in order to burn the discs. It's only necessary to see them afterwards. Using the -dev=0,5,0 argument tells what SCSI device to use. For example:
cdrecord -v -dev=0,5,0 speed=12 foo.iso
Then, after the disc is burned, throw it in the other drive and mount /cdrom.
