8.14   Network Booting Non-TCC Linux Machines

From Buddy Becker, Sat Nov 8 13:52:47 2003

Two disk images (nontcc-ks-boot and nontcc-ks-drv) have been added to /fs/tcc/bin/getdisk. Using these two disks anyone should be able to do a network install of redhat 9 from anywhere on campus. They just need an Ethernet connection and to know their network information. They just need to boot off the first disk and put in the second when prompted. It's basically a normal text mode install of redhat with the part where the user picks what to install off of set to our ftp mirror of redhat 9. The rest of the install is still interactive.
