If an MS Windows box hangs, e.g. complaining of"no available memory" (just stops doing anything) try killing findfast (ctrl+alt+del, etc). That cleared up a problem for me today. Also, this may fix other apps that are having problems with "no available memory" errors. Photoshop comes to mind... Ya, that's my spiel for today.
