Dr. Julie Ford, Associate Professor of Technical Communication, will present her paper, titled "Organizational Communication, Persuasion, and Unionization: A Major U.S. Airline vs. the Teamsters Union," at the first Humanities Colloquium of the semester.

According to Dr. Ford, the presentation will report the results of a study investigating the role of language and persuasion in managing organizational change. Her analysis of management communication from the airline industry illustrates application of rhetorical principles in a professional setting.

The Colloquium will be at 4:00 on Wednesday, September 24th, in Weir 102.
