Recruiting at New Mexico Tech

Information sessions and interviews with students are initiated when an employer contacts the Director of Career Services, Chelsea Buffington, at careerservices@admin.nmt.edu or requests an interview date via www.myinterfase.com/nmt/employer.

Interviews
It is a good idea to set up your interview schedule at least four weeks in advance.

Types of Interview Schedules
• Open Schedule - Career Services uses an automated system—Interfase—that enables students who meet employer requirements to obtain a time slot for an interview. This system allows students to schedule interviews on a first-come, first-served basis. The employer sets the specific criteria (i.e., major, degree level).

• Preselection - Students who meet the interview requirements, as noted in Interfase, submit their resumes on-line to the employer. The employer then reviews the resumes and chooses candidates they want to interview. The employer contacts the students by email to schedule their time.

• Room Reservation only - If you prefer to schedule your own interviews, and only need a place to hold them, we can reserve an interview room for you. Please contact Career Services to schedule a date. The employer contacts and schedules interview times with candidates.

Advertising
At New Mexico Tech, Career Services' use many methods to advertise your campus visit, including posting flyers in strategic locations throughout campus, notifying appropriate departments and students, and publishing a notice in Scope, the weekly, campus, electronic bulletin.

Information Sessions
Information sessions are typically scheduled into the Don & Rosie Tripp Room, Library 212, which holds up to 50 persons. Audio-visual equipment is available, including TV/VCR, computer, Internet access, overhead projector, and LCD projector.
