SSAR members must be willing, capable, and prepared to survive 48 hours
in below-freezing temperatures in conditions of snow, blizzard, and
freezing rain.

SSAR members must have a personal winter equipment list which outlines
items they regularly carry above and beyond the SSAR Individual
Equipment List.

SSAR members must have copies of the SSAR Individual Winter Equipment
List and of their personal winter equipment list for winter equipment
checks.

This list supplements and refines the SSAR Individual Equipment List.
