A searcher should be dressed appropriately for the weather, plus carry
the following minimum extra equipment.

 * daypack
 * compass
 * space blanket
 * personal first aid kit
 * matches
 * knife
 * pencil
 * paper
 * garbage bag
 * toilet paper
 * 2 liters of water
 * food or snacks
 * flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries and extra bulb
 * jacket or sweater, wool or fleece
 * rain jacket or poncho
 * extra socks
