Socorro Search and Rescue

			      Constitution

Preamble
  We, the members of Socorro Search and Rescue, do hereby form for the
  purpose of prompt and efficient search, location, rescue, care and
  treatment of persons lost, entrapped or in physical danger as directed
  by the New Mexico Emergency Services Council and the New Mexico
  Department of Public Safety.

Article 1: Quorum
  A quorum shall be 50% of the membership in Socorro Search and Rescue.

Article 2: Bylaws
  Bylaws may be enacted or repealed with a 2/3 majority vote of the
  total membership of the organization.

Article 3: President
  Presidential elections shall be held on a yearly basis during the
  month of November.  The term of office for the President is January 1
  through December 31 of the following year.

  If the office of President becomes vacant, then an election shall be
  held at the next meeting to elect a new President to complete the
  current term of office.
 
Article 4: Appointed Officers
  Appointments shall be made by the President and ratified by majority
  vote of a quorum.

  The appointed positions shall be one secretary, one treasurer, one
  training officer, one equipment manager, and any number of team
  leaders.

Article 5: Meetings
  Meetings shall be held no less than once per month at a regularly
  scheduled time and place.
