Be thick-skinned. Your reviewers may be discourteous, but don't take it personally. Remember that this process is about getting the code right, not about stroking your ego. Sometimes, especially with startup companies or death march projects, there just isn't time for the social niceties.
Conversely, if you're hiring people for a startup or other critical situation, don't hire prima donnas, no matter how brilliant they are. Look for “very good and a steady producer with a solid track record.”
Be courteous to your review panel whether they deserve it or not.
