C. J. Cherryh's ``Cyteen'' novels

One of the most powerful members of the scientific establishment has died. Part of her work suggests that it might be possible to clone a human and raise the clone in such a way that it could take up where the original left off. Her lab decides that they should clone her.

But how will the clone feel about this? Suppose the clone is of a rather stubborn and willful human. Is she going to like it when she finds out she's just an experiment?
