Tastes like you are chewing on a rusty nail. ;-) SANGRIA ------- Take 1 orange and 1 lemon and wash well in hot water. Slice the fruits with the skin (do not peel) into 3mm thick slices. If the slices are big, halve them. Heat 1/8 litre of water with 7g (I guess that's 7/10ths of a kg) of sugar until it begins to boil. Remove from heat. Add the slices of orange and lemon and 1/8 litre of freshly squeezed OJ to the water. Leave the water and its contents in room temperature for about 3 hours (saturation). Then add 7/10ths litre of good red wine and 12 or so ice cubes and serve. For a nice addition, add one ounce (30cc) anisette. Subject: RECIPE: Frozen Mudslides Lines: 43 On New Years Eve I decided to have frozen mudslides instead of having something harder. I've never made them before now. I just took a shot at it. My brother told me what was in them and I guessed at the proportions. Although the damage to your body has more to do with weight gain than anything else since they're REAL filling, and real good! Anyway, here goes: Frozen Mudslides: 2 oz Kahlua 2 oz Bailey's (or St. Brendans, or Emmets is fine) 1 oz Vodka (Smirnoff or better is preferred) (The icecream and ice are loose approximations if you're within 1/2 cup, you should be fine.) 2 cups vanilla icecream 2 cups machine made ice ( I say machine made because I find that home made ice freezes too solidly for a blender to chop up as fine as the ice should be.) You'll have to estimate extra ice to make up for the air-space. Put all ingredients (except ice) into a blender. Turn blender on low for 30 seconds then highest for remaining time. After the mixture is WELL blended. add the ice GRADUALLY through the little hole through the top. 1-2 cubes at a time. Use small cubes. Do not use the big glacier-like pieces or it won't come out right. Once the ice is all in, let it run for another minute or so. Pour into your favorite goblet, wine glass whatever. If you like, lace the inside of it with a splash of chocolate syrup if you like. Enjoy! SHERBET AND GINGER ALE PUNCH SHERBET-PUNCH - A non-alcoholic party punch recipe This is a super non-alcoholic punch with lots of possible variations. INGREDIENTS (16 cups of punch) 1/2 gallon sherbet (use your favorite flavor or one that complements the occasion) 2 quarts ginger ale PROCEDURE (1) Scoop sherbet into punch bowl. Boil the water and sugar until dissolved. Turn off the heat. Slowly add dry instant coffee and continue stirring. Add the vanilla to the alcohol, then combine the cooled sugar syrup and coffee mixture to the alcohol mixture. Cover tightly and shake vigorously each day for 3 weeks. Strain and filter (only if you have used vanilla bean). NOTE: Vodka will give you Kaluha, Rum will give you Tia Maria, and Brandy will give you another version of Kaluha. Grain Alcohol will give you a Kaluha like liqueur as well. Irish Cream 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk 1 pint Half & Half -or- whipping cream 2 Tbl Hersheys Chocolate Syrup 1 tsp Vanilla 3/4 cup Whiskey 1/4 cup Rum 1/4 cup Cream De Cocoa Mix in blender or with wire whip. Refrigerate or freeze. Serve over crushed ice.
