This sister restaurant to Scalo features truly amazing French cuisine. The duck confit panini with onion chutney I had here on my first visit was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had anywhere. My companion was equally impressed with the Croque Madame.
The beautiful room is a little slice of Paris, not that I've ever actually been to Paris. Tiny white hex tiles on the floor, banquette seating, and Edith Piaf on the ceiling speakers. Service was outstanding, and I'd bet our server was a French native.
Open only 10:30–5:30, downtown at the southwest corner of Gold and Third. Be sure to make reservations. This rather small room is booked solid just about every lunchtime, located as it is near the workplaces of a lot of bureaucrats and attorneys.
