Le French Corner is a smallish bakery and lunch spot. Based on one visit, and some recommendations from friends, I've rated it with four stars.
I ordered two items, a salmon and leek quiche and the half Cuban sandwich (ham, turkey and cheese). Since each came with a half side salad, I told them just to give me both salads on the same plate.
It was as if the plate had been teleported from Provence. The salad greens were first-rate, fresh, flavorful, and attractive. The bread, baked in-house, was an excellent baguette. The meats and cheeses were excellent, and the quiche was delicious. Even on a Monday during lunch hour, there was a good crowd, many of them apparently regulars.
The surroundings are like the food: simple and elegant. The room was pleasant, airy, and well-lit. The server was cheerful, attentive and helpful.
It took me a while to decide between the salmon-leek quiche and another interesting possibility, a brie-pecan quiche. I'll be back there to try it shortly.
Reduced-carb dieters beware: there is a case full of really outstanding French pastry front and center.
