Mexican restaurants in Albuquerque
We distinguish between New Mexican food (see my
New Mexico style restaurant page
for those) and the food of Old Mexico.
- El Norteño***, south side of Zuni above Washington.
Mexico City style, not New Mexico. Don't miss the chicken
molé, a highly unusual sauce featuring chocolate,
nuts and spices. Tastes much better than it sounds!
- Losbetos***, a fast, cheap, authentic, and 24-hour
operation on the southeast corner of San Mateo and Lomas.
No hay coffee, though. We think they may have
overreacted to the lady who sued McDonald's after she spilled
scalding coffee on herself.
