French restaurants in Albuquerque
I don't have a lot of experience with French food, but its
national principles often coincide with mine: fresh food, simply
prepared.
Albuquerque has some places that have really impressed me.
It tends to average a bit pricier than other fine cuisines in
town, but that's understandable given the difficulties of supply
for the better-quality ingredients.
- Café Voila. Hard to find,
but worth it. Country style.
- Cafe Miche****. High-end
food, a bit pricier.
- Chez Axel****, northeast corner of San Pedro and Montgomery.
Very nice atmosphere and food all around. Excellent take on
Provençal style.
- French Corner**** (lunch
only).
- I haven't tried it, but some folks like La Crepe Michel,
in Old Town. Others disdain it, saying it is not great
French.
Gone but not forgotten
