You can include LaTeX or TeX math formulae as inlines. The preparation is the same as for displayed math. However, the baseline of these elements might not line up with the baseline of the surrounding text. Because this technique is somewhat ugly, it should be used only when you need characters unavailable in regular DocBook (see Section 18, “Special characters”).
