Weather Calm, sunny. Temp 4F at 0600, 21F at 1330.
Charged to work Zuni and Blackrock villages and Eustace Lake (scoped with Questar 3.5" at 50x and 80x). Accompanied by Father Terence. Also accompanied by Jenny and Chris Riley(?) until about 1100.

Description: Large size, large head. Eye placed forward in head. Tail with rounded corners. In flight, head projected well forward of a straight line between the wrists.

Father Terence says this bird has been coming to the exact same tree for a week now, the one with feeders on it, on the north side of the elementary school courtyard at St. Anthony's. It was waiting for us in that tree when we arrived.

Description: Smallish sparrow with a short forked tail. Strong yellow lores. Dark cap with lighter medial stripe. Smallish, pink bill. Underparts white except for a scant necklace of dark streaking, with the streaking a bit thicker posteriorly and medially.

Looked at the south side of the dam briefly. Parked on Percha Flats very close to the dam and the west bank and scoped the resting gull flock there. Also scoped carefully from the boat ramp on the west side and another point further north that gives a vantage to another group of resting gulls and pelicans north of there.

GPS: 325236.6n1071825.7w This is a gate on the now-paved road to Percha SP, just south of where the road bends from E to S. To the right of the gate are two posts with no barbed wire between them, just wide enough for me to squeeze through and enter @PWHA.

GPS: 325221.1n1071824.7w Exit point from @PWHA, on the south of the ditch where it enters from the fields opposide.

Weather 25F at start, 50F in midafternoon. Sunny with a few clouds early. Calm.
