@Riv: Socorro: Riverine Park
Route 1115, arrive Socorro Riverine Park at the end of Otero Street. 1145, arrive and park at #4 to survey the huge new change in the river's route. 1215, gun enthusiasts (NM lic. 042-KBF, white pickup, several hundred rounds of semiautomatic fire at floating targets) cut short my hike north as I ran back to see what all the noise was; then hiked south from the parking area. 1245, leave.
Film Frames 14-15 of current roll fired accidentally. Fr. 18-20 of Summer Tanager, two at 1/500 (indicated exposure), last at 1/1000.
Two songs unidentified, but I have suspects and may later nail them down with recordings. The first goes "yed-roe-zit-zit-zit-eee-rrrrrr", the last note a coarse trill, the "eee" part a higher and faster trill. For this one, check the usual warblers like Lucy's, etc.
Another was in an irrigation channel and went "(Don-Ameche)^3-Donna"; Common Yellowthroat?
