Personal Statement:
While working as a systems support specialist doing mostly systems administration tasks, I became familiar with the AIX platform and the security pluses and minuses of the IBM midrange machines that use RISC architecture.
Besides systems/security administration, I am also exploring other options such as intrusion detection, network security, and cyber security research. A great deal of work remains to be done in the area of Internet security.
I am listed in Who’s Who among Students in American Universities & Colleges for the ‘97-’98 and ‘98-‘99 school years. I was also distinguished as the highest ranked senior student by the Alpha Chi organization at Sul Ross State University on April 29, 1998 and April 14, 1999. I earned Summa Cum Laude honors upon graduation from Sul Ross State University on December 18, 1999. I am listed in the Nat’l. Dean’s List for ’94 through ’97 and ’98-’99 school years. I was also awarded Scholarship for Service (SFS) starting in fall, 2003 for graduate studies and research into computer security and information assurance at New Mexico Tech.
