SCOPE Publication Policies:

SCOPE is emailed on Monday and Thursday mornings to lists consisting of faculty, staff, and some students of New Mexico Tech, and anyone else who cares to subscribe. To subscribe, see http://lyris.nmt.edu/read/.

While every effort is made to avoid excessive mailings, press releases on shows in the Performing Arts Series and Regents Meetings are also sent to the SCOPE mailing lists.

Readers who want to keep up with events in between mailings are advised to check SCOPE at http://www.nmt.edu/~scope/scope.html. This online version is updated most working days. Events more than 10 days in the future are listed on the Calendar at http://infohost.nmt.edu/mainpage/calendar/mastercal.html and are added to SCOPE as the time comes. Both SCOPE and the Calendar are available from the New Mexico Tech homepage.

The bottom half of SCOPE contains notices of interest to the Tech community. Notices are run for a few weeks, or until the temporary condition inspiring them ends. The expiration date for each notice will be listed at the end of the notice. Notices giving links to Career Services, Registrar's, and Human Resources are run indefinitely, as a service.

SCOPE is provided as a service of the Office for Advancement of New Mexico Tech. SCOPE does not run paid advertising and does not promote commercial events or products.

To get your event or notice listed, send it to scope@nmt.edu. There is no specific deadline, as SCOPE is updated on an ongoing basis. However, the sooner you send your event before it happens, the more people will be aware of it. You will be given a chance to proofread your own notice in the online SCOPE.

Policy on advertising houses: SCOPE advertises ONLY houses on Tech Hill for sale. The reason for this is that New Mexico Tech owns the LAND under the houses on Tech Hill, and state law requires us to offer these houses for sale to the Tech community (and NRAO) before they are made available to the general public. SCOPE does not advertise any other houses for sale or rent.
