That is an old, and obviously used, "*Grand* Opening" sign. On a business that hasn't been closed since probably before I was born (assuming it is on the hotel and not the Chinese restaurant).

It is hard to take pictures of your radio at night while driving. The goal was photograph the info field, which is mostly visible as "RADIO FOR NEW" in this image. KUNM at some point has started to broadcast that field.

I wanted hash browns for breakfast. I ended up making some kind of oddly shaped browned potatoes instead. Since they started out raw instead of frozen or parcooked (or both), I browned them slowly. It took about 50 minutes to cook them, but they came out exceptionally well.
