Student Association Officers
Every student at NMIMT is a member of the Student Association (as long as that student has paid his/her student activity fee). As such all NMIMT students are entitled to the benefits provided by the SA. Below are the New Mexico Tech students who have taken upon themselves the responsibility of running the SA government.

Sohaib Soliman

Hi everybody! My name is Sohaib Soliman, and I am your current Student Association President. Right now, I am enjoying my junior year here at Tech, pursuing a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I have been involved with the Student Association since I began attending this fine establishment, holding the coveted positions of secretary and senator before being elected your president. My agenda this year is to help exponentially increase student involvement in Student Association activities, help establish a more direct line between students and administration regarding any concerns students may have, and work closely with my administration to create a Student Association Handbook that will closely detail the job duties of our positions in order to create smoother and more effective future transition into and out of office. Ashley Geerts

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley Geerts and I am the Student Association Vice President at New Mexico Tech. I am currently in my senior year at Tech pursuing a degree in Psychology and Biology. I have been working within the SA for a little less than a year now and have learned a lot about this organization. As a younger student I was never really interested in the SA because I never really understood what they did and who they were. I hope that I can help change that for all of our incoming students. What I've learned is that the SA isn't just a student government, we are your voices. We are a group of individuals working as a team to make Tech an experience that our students will never forget. We work with the administration, the city of Socorro, and numerous other organizations to help make Tech "the place" to go to school. But it isn't just my job to keep this school a fun and enjoyable environment, it is every student's right to do so as well. So please come to our meetings and let us know what you like, dislike, or want to see happen for at Tech.

Hi everyone! My name is Gina, and I am the Student Activities Officer at New Mexico Tech. This is my second semester in this position, so I have some ideas for this spring semester and for Spring Fling. I am here for you guys, so feel free to send me ANY ideas you have for either Spring Fling or during the semester in general. Stop by my office, shoot me an e-mail, contact me however you can, and I'll try my best to make your ideas reality!
If ever you can't find me in my office in Fidel, you will most likely find me in my other office (Jones Annex 227) or in one of the labs in Jones Annex. Feel free to stop by ANY time you want! I have been involved in the SA for about three years now as a Senator or as the Vice President. Jason Perry
KTEK General Manager
Hello everybody, my name is Jason Perry and I'm the general manager of KTEK. KTEK is a student radio station maintained by the school. Until this year, I was unaware that the school even had a radio station, so I'd like to get the word out so as many people can enjoy it as possible. The radio station can be accessed over the radio or via a link available by searching for KTEK on Google. If you have any other questions or think you may be interested in broadcasting over the radio, email me about it. Any student can go on the air and discuss a topic of interest, play music, etc. Aside from my role in the SA, I am a senior studying biology. I've enjoyed my time here and hope you will too!

Ben Warner

Hey You! This is Ben Warner and I am currently Gina's partner in crime as her assistant. I learned about the SA from my friend, Omar, who tricked me into coming to one of the meetings. At first, I became a justice for the SA in which I ran elections and help cover up the horrible murder one of the other justices did. My second semester in the SA, I became the Chief Justice and my power level soon rose to extreme heights. This is now my third semester and I am still the Chief Justice, but I infiltrated the executive branch of the SA, working undercover as Gina's assistant. I am easy to get along with and will always try and help you out.
