Want to become an IRB Member?

Federal regulations specify that every IRB must have at least one member who is not a scientist and who is not affiliated with the research institution in any way. In addition, IRBs should have members who represent the populations being used in research. Thus, additional participants -- particularly students, staff, and community members -- are welcome to become members of New Mexico Tech's Institutional Review Board.

If you would like to participate on New Mexico Tech's IRB, please contact the IRB Administrator. You must be able to meet certain requirements in terms of qualifications, time commitment, and training, but they are not overwhelming.
