The Queer
Association of Socorro Area Residents (formerly GAF) is a club for gay,
lesbian,
and bisexual students at New
Mexico Tech, as well as their friends, and anyone else in the
Socorro area who is interested.
You do not have
to be gay to join QuASAR.
QuASAR meets weekly and exists primarily as a
"social" group, to provide a safe and friendly environment where
people can interact. We have frequent parties, cookouts, and potlucks. The
atmosphere is very easygoing, and there is never any pressure on individuals to
be anything more or less than themselves. QuASAR does not practice "outing", or the
non-consensual public exposure of closeted gay persons. Although some members
of the club are politically active, QuASAR is not
a political organization.
Below is our club's constitution, last revised in the Fall
of 2004.

at large on LGBTQ issues. Qualities we stress are friendship, community,
communication, and inclusion.
