Dan Briggs was killed in a skydiving accident on July 4, 1998.  He was a talented astrophysicist, who had worked in computer analysis of data from interferometers. He leaves many sad friends, who wish he had stayed with us longer. He had a tremendous range of personal interests, many of which he worked at until he attained quite impressive levels of expertise.
