Deadline Policy

The current policy for articles submitted to Paydirt are as follows.

All articles must be submitted on or before midnight of deadline day.

Exceptions to the deadline day are:

• if you inform the Paydirt Editor of the delay prior to the day of deadline
• if you were assigned an article to write by the Paydirt Editor that falls after the deadline
• if you are Paydirt article writing staff, this policy does not directly affect you
  

This policy will be enforced to prevent any unexpected work for our copyeditor or layout designer to do between deadlines and the time needed to make the newspaper for press.

This does not mean we discourage you from writing for Paydirt, this is to ensure that there is an appropriate balance of workload for the staff to produce a quality newspaper. If you believe you are not going to make our deadlines, it does not hurt to send an email a day before the deadline and you may be granted an extension.

Fall Schedule

If you wish to write articles for Paydirt, we pay students to write them! Here is our list of issue dates we are going to be publishing for the fall. We are still looking for writers to write a variety of subjects, so email paydirt@nmt.edu or paydirt.nmt.edu@gmail.com for details.

SA Elections

If you (or anyone you know) are a planning to run in the upcoming the Student Association Elections to be held in April, please let us know. Presidents and Vice Presidents are welcome to write a 500 word letter explaining why they should get elected. Also we need a vertical-standing photo to place alongside your letter.

Deadline is April 5th, 2007.

Article and Photo Deadline Extended

For those wishing to write an article about the upcoming Spring Fling, please email paydirt@nmt.edu in advance what you are going to write about and/or photograph.

The deadline for the April 5th issue is going to be extended up to April 2nd, 2007 at the latest. If you want to write a review about the bands playing during Spring Fling, please let us know!

Photographs, please send in your best photos in order to go into the Spring Fling edition of Paydirt.

New Issue #3.5

Due to the circumstances last weekend and week, we put bumped several articles that were intended to go into this issue. So there is an interim issue for this week to cover the remainder of all submitted articles.

We are aware we bumped other articles and we apologize for this. They will be worked into the next issue.

We also need more articles from everyone. Deadline has been extended until Thursday, February 22, 2007. If you cannot make this deadline, please email us about it so we can arrange special conditions.

Deadline #3

Today is the deadline for issue #3 for Paydirt. If you have an article that you want in this issue of Paydirt (February 13th) please send it in today! If you can't make the deadline and wish to have something in this issue, please email us to and explain your delay.

Deadline #2

Today is the deadline for the newspaper. If you have any articles, today is the last day to turn them in.

If you cannot make our deadline and want to make it in for this paper, email us us your situation. We'll be more than glad to arrange something.

New Issue - #1

New issue of Paydirt is out everywhere at New Mexico Tech. Pick up your copy today!

Content due for the next issue is January 23, 2007. If you cannot make this deadline but wish to put an article in for the February 1, 2007 issue, email us ASAP and tell us at the latest when you can submit it.

If you have an idea for an article to be featured in Paydirt, but you don't know if it's a good idea, run it by us and we can guide you so it can get published in the newspaper.

Deadlines and Issue Dates

We now have a calendar of dates and deadlines for Spring 2007. Paydirt is currently going to accept deadlines for the first newspaper until this Friday. This allows us time to edit articles, design, print, and distribute the newspaper on-time.

Also, deadlines for advertisements fall under the same dates. There will be some flexibility with deadlines and issue dates to accommodate with class and school schedules but under extraordinary cases.

If you wish to write an article, photograph, drawing, please follow the schedule deadlines and submit all works on or before the deadline. If you can't make the deadline and want to have something published, email paydirt@nmt.edu to notify us.

Note: All submitted work will be edited for grammar and in some cases content. If you are a New Mexico Tech student, you do get paid for your work that gets published.
