According to several news sources, such as the Associated Press and MSNBC, police have said that they doubt that Ander Behring Breivik is affiliated with other terrorists, describing him as a lone wolf. However, police are not ruling out the possibility that he is associated with other members.

Top 8 Best Revolutions

News - July 11, 2011

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." - Thomas Jefferson

1. Babylonian Revolt, 615 BCE. The beginning of the end for the Assyrian Empire. Babylonians took over and soon founded the first written code of laws.

2. Glorious Revolution, England, 1688. Not as bloodless as the history books suggest, but the UK hasn't had an absolute monarch since. Reinforced the Magna Carta . I'd call that a success.

3. American Revolution, 1775-1783. You've read it all already. Led to the longest-standing government in history.

4. Egyptian Revolution, 2011. Followed in the wake of the Tunisian revolt a few weeks before. Short, not a lot of civilian deaths, and successful.

5. French Revolution, 1789-1799. Bloody, violent mess. Led from a disconnected king to the tyrannical Robespierre, but Napoleon was pretty good for France, and the Guillotine was an elegant machine. Also led to the end of the Holy Roman Empire.

6. Biafra Revolution, 1967-1970. Ethnic group in Nigeria seceded, experienced liberty and tolerance for the first time in centuries. They starved and fell. A few years later, the Dead Kennedys formed, led by Jello Biafra, the only good result of this conflict.

7. Bohemian Revolt, 1618-1621. Emperor Matthias of Hungary tried to split his throne between two potential successors. The Protestants weren't happy. Spiraled out of control, and exacerbated the thirty years war.

8. Vietnamese Revolution, 1955-1975. Vietnamese people repelled foreign interest despite superior numbers. Oh wait, we were the foreign interest. Awkward.
