My name is Rebecca Clemens and I am the Assistant Director in the OSL. My primary responsibility is new student advising coordination, helping incoming freshmen and transfer students prepare for their first semester at NMT.
I returned to college after years of working in a variety of fields, including telecommunications administrator, private librarian, newsletter editor, bartender, commercial baker, and Technologist at Sandia National Laboratories. I came to NMT after earning my Associate's degree in Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) Design from CNM in Albuquerque, and I received my NMT B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 2011.
Through a combination of circumstances, I became a STEM Communication Fellow in the NMT Writing and Oral Presentation Center (WOPC) for two years, then joined the OSL as a temporary employee – which turned into a full-time job.
My interests include reading, baking, and travel. My ideal future job is to help engineers and scientists better communicate their ideas and research, integrating my hard-earned engineering knowledge with my lifelong love of words.
