Hello! My name is Veronica! I’m a transfer student from Colorado School of Mines and majoring in Chemical Engineering. My hobbies are reading, watching movies, and sewing (although I’m not very good at it). I enjoy cooking for my friends, eating McGriddles, and drinking coffee and teas. I look forward to being able to help you with questions you may have.It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
Hi! My name is Matthew. I am a senior, double majoring in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics. This will be my sixth semester tutoring for the OSL, and I am so excited to meet all of our new students. I grew up in Los Alamos, and I have worked at the National Labs there for the past three summers. Music is my biggest passion outside of school. I play piano and guitar, and I want to learn how to play the banjo, now that I own one. I also enjoy hiking, backpacking, camping, and traveling.
My name is Caleb Belchak. I’m a native New Mexican and was homeschooled until college. I’m a Chemical Engineering Major currently in my junior year. My favorite past times are martial arts, writing my novel, and music. I have some prior practice teaching martial arts, and because of that, I’m very willing to help anyone who comes my way. I’m approachable and easy going. If I am capable of helping, I will help until the problem is solved. And if you happen to see someone who looks like me, don’t worry, you’re not seeing double. I’m half of one of the sets of twins here on campus.
Greetings! My name is Jacob Belchak. I’m a former homeschooler from Albuquerque, now a junior Chemical Engineering student at NMT. When the Great Homework Monster allows, I enjoy working on my novel, self-defense training, and playing around on my keyboard. I have no formal mentor training, but I have experience teaching martial arts, and I’m always happy to help answer questions.
Hello, My name is Will Benson, and I am a senior studying Mechanical Engineering. I grew up in Socorro, NM, and I decided that going to NMT would be worth staying in Socorro for four more years. I’m very excited to be joining OSL to tutor for my last semester at Tech. I really enjoy helping other students learn new skills. In my free time I enjoy playing sports, mainly soccer and golf, playing video games, and spending time with my friends. I am pretty easy going so feel free to come up to me in or outside of the OSL and I’ll help to the best of my abilities!Look for the PDF versions of your books first before buying them.
Hey! I'm Nekeisha Johnson, and I am a junior here at NMT. I am pursuing dual degrees in Mathematics and Physics, and am also a member of the Belly Dance Club on campus (you should join us!). Outside of my life here at Tech, I am an avid geocacher, and I love to get outside and travel. This will be my second year tutoring, and it is always the highlight of my day. I can’t wait to see what the OSL has in store for me this semester!
My name is Alexander Kral. I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in both Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. I was born in Albuquerque New Mexico where I lived until coming down south to Socorro. This here is my fifth semester at New Mexico Tech, where I hope to graduate in three and a half years’ time. If I had one piece of advice for succeeding here at Tech it would be to surround yourself with people who motivate and challenge you to be your best. It’s too easy to accept failure because your peers share in that failure.
Hello my name is Austen Lane. I am 3rd year chemical engineer attending New Mexico Tech. I grew up in Rio Rancho and spent most of my schooling in some form of home schooling growing up. I enjoy some math and mathematical theory of chemistry, and it is the reason I became a chemical engineer major. I spend most of my time doing homework, playing video games, and board games. One of my major hobbies is collecting and playing board games.
My name is Marshall Leiggi and I am an undergraduate at New Mexico Tech. I transferred from Santa Fe Community College in fall of 2016 to major in physics and minor in mathematics. Hello. My name is Sergey Magedov and I am a sophomore who is pursuing a double major in Physics and Mathematics. My hobbies tend to fall on the more nerdy side of things, from gaming to watching anime and reading manga, but if you wish to talk about physics or math, specifically high energy nuclear physics, then I would be delighted to join you. I can tutor math up through ODEs, and I can cover up to Comprehensive Physics II for physics. Do not be afraid to stop by if you need help on any of the subjects that fall in those categories.
My name is Caleb Matheson. I am a third year electrical engineering major with a math minor. I grew up in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and enjoy going to school fairly close to home.
