Spring Semester

Wow it seems that winter break is always never long enough time to get stuff done. Now spring semester is upon us.

Unlike last semester we are on top of our game and already have our event schedule ready to go, so mark your calenders. Woo! Go us!
So... our events are as follows this semester:
Friday February 1, 6PM-6AM
Friday February 29, 6PM-6AM (LEAP LAN)
Friday March 28, 6PM-6AM
Saturday April 26, Noon-6AM (DEAD WEEK LAN)

Of course these could change at a moments notice (but not likely). Anyway we hope to see you all at our events and support us when the Club Fair rolls around. We will keep you all posted on that and future activities.
Don't forget to drop by the NMT LAN Steam community and join if you haven't already. Just message one of our admins and we will let you in.

And the Results are In...

As I am typing this the Child's Play LAN has peaked. In the end through our two drawings we raised $884.

The winners of the two grand prizes.
Swag Drawing (Nintendo Power Glove): Sean Black
TV Drawing: Michael Jew

I would like to thank the following:
First, Kevin Lambson for donating the Power Glove to raffle off. That raised more interest to our swag drawing.
Second, I would like to thank the SA for giving us the money that we were going to ask for in advance.
Finally. I would like to thank everyone who bought a ticket or donated cash.
Most importantly: Thank you to all who showed up. We seriously ran out of space and that was awesome, despite the fact that we tried not to this time.

If you would still like to donate to Child's Play you can follow the links off of their site to either donate money or to the Amazon wish lists for the hospitals.

Our final meeting will be on Monday. We will be looking into the future for next semester.

We hope you all enjoyed the semester and we hope to see you at events in the future.

Child's Play Charity LAN

The last event this semester will be the Burning LAN for Child's Play.
For those who don't know what Child's Play is, they were founded by the crew over at Penny Arcade. The charity goal is to get toys, books and games for children's hospitals all around the world including the UNM Children's Hospital up in Albuquerque.

If you don't already know we had an event last semester that raised $800 for their charity. This semester we hope to raise much more than that.

The event will be on Saturday December 1 starting at noon and going all the way to Sunday at noon. The event will take place in the SAC Auditorium.
We do ask that people who are %100 committed to attending please contact one of the club officers so that we may have a better understanding of how many will be there so we can plan accordingly.

We will start accepting donations this week and will be taking all donations up until the end of the event.

We are still looking for sponsors and other people to help out or donate items to raffle off.
I will update this post as soon as more information becomes available.

Edit: The SA has granted our request for funds to get items for raffle. We will be raffling off a 26" Flat Screen TV as our main raffle for $5 a ticket. We also have a little extra money so we will be having a secondary raffle for small prizes at the event for those who show up. $2 a ticket for that raffle.

We hope for the support of everyone and we hope to see everyone there!

And we keep rolling...

I know it has been a while since we posted news but it is time again.

Our next two club meetings are going to be on:
- Monday November 5
- Monday November 19
both meetings will be at 8PM and we will meet in Workman 101 if nobody is using it.

EVENT ALERT!
Our next event is ScottLAN (not affiliated with Scotland).
It will be Friday November 9 in the SAC from 6PM to 6AM.
I don't know the specifics of what games we will be playing right now but I suppose if anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear them.

Keep in mind that our Burning LAN charity LAN is coming up soon at the end of the semester. Hopefully we can get Child's Play to allow us to partake in their yearly Christmas charity drive.
We always need people to help us out. This event in particular, we need sponsors so any help with that would be appreciated.

We hope to see you at one of our next events.
