Officers
President Nicholas Carter
Nick is a Senior majoring in Technical Communication. Nick is very involved at Tech. In addition to being the President of Newman, Nick is the Treasurer of the Society of Technical Communicators and is the Student Association's Tech Director. For fun, Nick enjoys riding his bike, running, and working on his 1990 Turbo DSM project car.

Newman Center Caretaker Corina Sedillo
Corina is a senior majoring in Petroleum Engineering. In addition to Newman, she serves as a Eucharistic Minister in the Church. In her free time, Corina enjoys collecting rocks, playing pool, and weight lifting. She also enjoys playing soccer.

Newman Center Caretaker Tori DeOreo
Tori is a Junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She teaches a DDR class here on campus and enjoys it thorougly. She also serves as a Eucharistic Minister in the Church. In her free time, Tori also enjoys being a member of the SCA, the Society of Creative Anachronisms, which is a group that enacts old style battle techniques.

NMCSC Liaison Sarah Gonzales
Sarah is a Senior majoring in Environmental Engineering. She serves as a Eucharistic Minister in the Church. In her free time, Sarah enjoys climbing, caving, and knitting. Perhaps Sarah's neatest hobby is wheeling the Jeep Cherokee she inherited from her father. Sarah has been known to have quite a few adventures rock cralwing her jeep! Sarah also plays the French horn and enjoys swimming.

Communications Coordinator Joey Fernandez
Joey is a Junior by year and Senior by credit majoring in Electrical Engineering. He is a greeter and usher at his church in Albuquerque. At Tech, Joey is the President of the Car Club, the upcoming Correspondence Secretary of Tau Beta Pi, and the Vice Chair of IEEE. He enjoys mountain biking, softball, and racquetball. Joey's passion is cars. He frequently enjoys racing his 2002 WRX around the state in various autocross events.

Music Coordinator Emilia Vesper
Emilia is a Sophomore majoring in Chemistry. She is active in her choir in Albuquerque and heads up the Newman Choir here in Socorro. Emilia enjoys playing the piano and the violin. She also enjoys biking. Dancing is her passion. Emilia started in ballet when she was just 5 years old. Emilia loves culture and her family and enjoys to sing folklore with her mother, who is from Chile. Emilia also enjoys swimming.

Financial Coordinator Jimmy Castillo
Jimmy is a Sophomore majoring in Electrical Engineering and minoring in Technical Communication. He volunteers at Socorro High School as a tutor. In his free time, Jimmy enjoys golf, basketball, snowboarding, and backpacking.

Faculty Advisor Dennis Schumacher
Dennis is Newman's Faculty sponsor and contact with the university. Dennis is very involved in San Miguel and helps to organize Family Night every month. Dennis helps Newman keep on track and is a great organizer. He is head of residential life and is a very helpful figure for all students living both on and off campus.

Campus Minister Nick Keller
Nick is Newman's Campus Minister. He is a deacon-in-training and will be ordained in the summer of 2007. Nick holds a BS and MS degree in Public Health from UNM. He has worked 30 years in in infectious disease programs and 15 years in AIDS prevention. He has taught pregnancy prevention classes at Socorro High for the past 6 years. Nick also is active in the Socorro Storehouse, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and choir at San Miguel. Him and his wife Nadine have restored an old farm in Socorro County and grow vegetables, fruits, and award winning garlic. Nick enjoys golf, exercise, and farming in his free time.
