I went to the International Space Museum in Alamagordo today. Pretty spiffy place. They have a lot of Russian space program stuff which was nice to see. They also, along the wall of improvements to our lives because of space travel, a poster with a Kirby G5. Yes, that's right. My beloved Kirby G5 was developed in part with NASA. Specificly the fan blades that can rotate about 18,000 RPM were developed with NASA because they needed jet engine blades as well.
I also got to see a great display of what I consider misplaced patriotism. About 5 miles south of Tularosa, is a large Amarican flag hanging next to a life-size maniken of Osama bin Lauden hanging from a noose. Perhaps it's just more overzealous then misplaced.
