Par Cans

I have made some headway into decifering the true meaning of the numbers associated with PARcans. As you may or may not know, PAR stands for Parabolic Aluminum Reflector, and comes in common sizes such as 38, 56 and 64. Well I noticed today that GE mases two PAR38 bulbs with different beam angles, wattages and lumuns. So, the number must refer to a physical size of the bulb somehow. I just dont know how yet.

I am sure this is quite boring to all of you, but it has been a quest of mine for some time now.
