I just went to the Canteen to get a muffin, something I do quite often. The woman at the counter told me it would be $1.11. My reaction was WHAT? It's usually 50 cents. She said they charge extra in the mornings because the muffins are fresher. My reaction was "you're kidding right?" Fortunatly a manager-type, or at least someone with a clue, told her that since it's after 10:30am the muffins are only 50 cents.

I have never heard of charging extra because food is fresher. I have heard of charging less when it is no longer fresh, but that would mean in this case that the muffins are normally $1.00 each. This seems pretty steep to me.
