Character Modeling With Blender

Find a model. This can be a drawing, photograph, basicly anything you can digitize into your computer. I used a digital camera for my shots. Although if you're like me, white as a sheet, you might want to use a black background :^)

Now you are ready to do some rotoscoping.
Change the window type to a Buttons window using the buttons slider. Click BackGroundPic and then Load to bring up the file browser. Choose your image. Finally, switch back to the 3D window using the buttons slider.

Now you may begin adding points with Ctrl-Left Mouse. Repeat this procedure for the side image as well. Remember to switch out of and back into Edit Mode (Using the Tab Key) to give you undo points.

Next create some contour lines by outlining muscles, bone structure and whatever else will make a better 3D image.

Combine the two sets of points such that each one is centered at the origin.

Now make faces. This is where some artistic talent and good spacial skills help. A face is a plane made from three or four points. You make points with Control Left-Click. When you have four points you turn them into a face by selecting them with Shift Right-Click and typing f.
