Our Officers
Shaun
Geerts Shaun Geerts is a senior pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering along with a minor in Management. He is planning on attending NMT for graduate school to earn a Master's in Explosives Engineering. He currently works as a student engineer at EMRTC. For Junior and Senior Design Clinic he has been designing and constructing a Closed Bomb Testing Apparatus for EMRTC.
Matt Gennrich Matthew Gennrich is a senior pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in explosives. His interests include robotics, explosives, and weapons design. After graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree, he’ll be working for NAVAIR in China Lake, CA where he’ll use his knowledge in explosives and mechanical design.
Kyle Chavez Kyle is currently in his senior year of college at New Mexico Tech,
and is seeking his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Currently,
Kyle has maintained a 3.91/4.00 GPA and is a member of multiple clubs
at his school as well as a member of the ISEE and ASME national chapters.
Kyle has worked at Intel and NASA for summer internships, and also works
as a lab assistant and grader for the Mechanical Engineering Department
at New Mexico Tech. As senior design research, Kyle is working on a team
that has created a low-cost heliostat that strives to make solar energy
collection cheaper than current technology.
Acacia Barraza
Graham Walsh Graham Walsh has been studying explosives for 10 years, has worked for the US Navy, and is currently an engineer at EMRTC, a PhD candidate, and an occasional instructor at NMT. His research is currently focused on using synthetic zeolites in a novel explosive detection system.
