Student Clubs Assemble Packages For Homeless

The New Mexico Tech chapter of Engineers Without Border organized a massive fundraising campaign that culminated in almost 100 people gathering to assemble 500 “NovoPacks” to be given to homeless people in the Southwest. . . .

Angelica Perry, [a Technical Communication student and] president of the EWB Chapter, said, “We were looking for something that will make an impact on this community, but is in the range of student capabilities.”

"Crisis in Ukraine: Russian Agression or Conventional "Realpolitik"?"—a talk by Dr. Alexander Prusin

On April 16th, 204, Dr. Alexander Prusin gave a talk for on the situation in the Crimea and Ukraine in the context of European history and politics. Dr. Prusin is a history professor and author of The Lands Between: Conflict in the East European Borderlands, 1870-1992. The talk is part of the NMT Humanities and Social Sciences Colloquium series.

2013–14 Campus Action Project Teams

Using the CAP grant funding, students will put into action the recommendations from AAUW’s 2013 research report Women in Community Colleges: Access to Success to do the following:

  • Support student parents.
  • Increase the number of women in nontraditional fields, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
  • Address the issues facing students transferring into a four-year institution.

A él no le interesa la memoria, sino el olvido (es tan corto el amor y tan grande el olvido), “hay que hurgar el olvido, no hay que hurgar la memoria”, señala.

Technical Communication Club Jams Out

SOCORRO, N.M. July 3, 2013 – Three technical communication students participated in a Presentation Jam, organized by the statewide Society of Technical Communication chapter June 8 in Albuquerque. Elizabeth Barteau, Keegan Livoti, and Griffin Swartzell are members of the Trinitite Club, which is the New Mexico Tech campus chapter of the Society. In Albuquerque, they talked about various issues and gave presentations on wikis and LaTeX.
