TC Lab | Design Lab

What is the Technical Communication Lab?

The Technical Communication Lab (TC Lab) is a collaborative workspace for technical communication students located in the basement of Fitch Hall (002).

The lab is equipped with PC workstations, a full-color printer, a SMART Sympodium™ and large LCD presentation screens, and videoconferencing equipment (with Adobe® Connect).

In addition to serving as a workspace and lounge for TC students, the TC Lab is the meeting place for the Society for Technical Communication—Trinitite Chapter and home base for the Writing and Oral Presentation Center’s Thesis and Dissertation Boot Camp.

What is the Design Lab?

The Design Lab, also located in the Fitch Hall Basement (005), is a workspace for technical communication students working on more design-intensive web, video, or design projects.

The lab is equipped with iMacs® (with Adobe® Creative Suite 6) and a Mac Pro video-editing station (with Final Cut Pro).

The Design Lab is an ideal space for students working on community-based service learning projects for their technical communication classes. How can I access these labs? Students in our technical communication program can speak to the department secretary, Liza Apache, about key cards.
