

The fine arts program provides an opportunity for students to work in drawing, sculpture, painting, and other endeavors employing creative imagination. Although it is a nonmajor program, fine arts is significant as an area of study, offering elective possibilities in other curricula.

A survey of visual arts in western civilization from
prehistory to 20th century art movements. Painting, sculpture,
architecture, and decorative artistic developments will be
analyzed in chronological order. Taught through the use of slides, art
history texts, and museum forays, from the perspective of the
artist's processes and the use of materials.
