1) Keep Schools Safe

There is information for concerned parents, teachers/school administrators and Law Enforcement Officers.  There are many school safety resources including:

  • Handling crisis situations.

  • What students can do.

  • How parents can get involved.

  • Effective prevention strategies for drug and alcohol.

  • Gangs, conflicts, weapons.

  • Model approaches to school safety.

  • Discipline codes that work.

  • State by state resources.

There purpose it to provide up to date info on successful programs and ideas to help communities work toward safer schools and devise the most appropriate response to preventing school violence.  Great site!

2) The National Mentoring Partnership

Speaking from experience, the mentoring program helps both the mentors, and the people getting mentored.  This site helps you run a program, offers training opportunities, or helps you find a mentor.

3) Violent Kids Information Site

Intellectual approach to causes of violence.  There is also some well renowned violence prevention articles.  Also there is some books about noticing violent children.  There is information which tests if the (teen) user are at risk.  Along with that, there is information for parents and teachers on noticing violent children and resolve ideas.  Excellent site!

4) National School Safety Center

Some resources for educators, publications, training information, firearm information. Resources for parents, teachers and reporters.

5) Student Pledge Against Gun Violence

On October 17, the pledge encourages young people to take a proactive stance in reducing gun violence.  I would think that coupled with an anti-violence film the pledge could be a great activity for all ages.
