6) Center for Schools and Communities -- School Safety and Violence Prevention

General information on bomb threats and crisis response.  Also on this page there is a very good outline on developing good crisis  plans.  Good resource for crisis planning.

 

7) School District of Philadelphia - Family Resource Network

In this site, there is information on how to improve a student's daily attendance at school (for smaller children).  Also, there is a nice section on how to ensure the health of the students as well as how to increase family and community involvement in the work of the schools.  There is also a great section on how to improve school safety which consists of a great school safety response program which could be used as an outline.  There are some very good resources for keeping schools safe, as well as a section on  behavioral health (mental health).

There are links to the National Emergency Assistance Team (NEAT) homepage, along with a link to the Safe Schools/ Healthy Students Action Center.  Also on this page is a link to an article on the Safe and Responsive Schools Project as well as handouts on children's response to trauma.

This site specializes in the theory of safe families together with safe communities equals safe schools.  This site contains information about the topics above, how to get involved, gun facts, crisis response guides and best practices/state affiliated programs.

There are links on school facilities/design, state school safety centers, bullying and harassment, responding to crisis, and violence prevention programs on this page.  Also on this site is resources on security technology, bomb threats, indicators of school crime and school shooter threat assessments.
