Links - Music

Here are some links to excellent music.

Death Metal - 10 years ago I thought it was stupid too. Then I saw a show - I guess you either
get it or you don't! Two of the best bands around today are In Flames from Sweden and Krisiun from Brazil.

Bong Rock - heavy riffs, lots of groove, the occasional cosmic soundscape...
Nod Zine - best place for news, soundfiles etc.
Monster Magnet - it's a planet of the apes and a third eye kind of thing!
Fu Manchu
The Atomic Bitchwax - the closest you can get to the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Nebula
Solarized

Widespread Panic - better than the Dead?
The Withdrawals - Albuquerque's own - these guys are fantastic!
Leo Kottke - awesome acoustic
Salamander Crossing - newgrass/folk - unfortunately no more; I was lucky enough to see them at the 1997
                                         Penn State Arts Festival.

Links - Brain Food (remember, 'tis an ill wind that blows no minds!)

Carl Jung - philosophy/psychology that works for me

What "they" want you to think: CNN, BBC
Probably closer to the truth! The Washington Pissed, The Onion, This Modern World

National Audubon Society - I worked as a science instuctor at their Greenwich Ecology Workshop.
If any place is worth saving, it's southern Utah.

Some light reading...
In the beginning was the command line - a fascinating essay by Neal Stephenson
Some people think there is no hope. Others take a different view.
