Distance courses are offered in a variety of formats:
Students viewing recorded course sessions are expected to check in with the instructor once a week via Internet videoconferencing, email, or telephone. Students are required to have access to a computer with a broadband connection to the Internet. In addition, NMT recommends that distance students have a web-cam in order to interact remotely with a live course.
Students taking distance courses, either with alive component or recorded only, are assessed a $350 distance education fee. Non-distance courses meeting in Speare 23 or 24 may contain features of a distance course, including streaming video, recorded lectures on DVD, and web based materials. Students in such courses are assessed a $50 media resources fee.
- Live, in person, from locations in Socorro, Albuquerque, and Los Alamos.
- Live, via Internet Video Stream, from any broadband computer connection to the internet.
- Recorded, via Internet Video Stream or on DVD (VHS available upon request).
