  • Meeting times - We decided to go back to Tuesdays in a hope that we can convince more people to attend (especially since it's 2 for 1 at Dominos on Tuesdays!). Tuesday meetings will start next Tuesday, October 30.
  • Coffee hour - we have decided to put a hold on coffee hour since we are only losing money and there has been no real social advantage either. We are still keeping the coffee, tea, and hot chocolate going in the lounge on M-F from 8-5.
  • Trip to (some cool place that I didn't write down) - December 1 & 2 - Details will be announced at the next meeting. Email SEG@nmt.edu if you are interested in going. Preference will be given to SEG members, but they are interested in having us along on their trips.

October 2 2007

  • BBQ and can crushing: Thursday, October 4 at the loading dock at 5:15. Free food & drinks. Don't forget your earplugs and your cans!
  • The coffee hour will be held in the lounge this upcoming Monday from 9-11. We are trying to encourage faculty and students to socialize during this time (which will also increase our profits during that time).
  • Movie night: We have a couple of options. We can have the movie night as scheduled or we can have a Halloween movie night (complete with costumes & candy?). Either way, we need suggestions for movies to watch.
  • There will be a blood drive on October 5 at the SAC, 9:30-4:00. The volunteers will be entered into a drawing for a Socorro Springs gift certificate. The club with the most volunteers also wins a prize.
  • Gila trip was a success. It was fun (albeit rainy) and they even went mineral collecting. One problem to address on future trips: 11 people RSVP's and only 5 showed up. This is not good.
  • Our budget from the SA this semester: $745 (this is huge!) Let's decide what to do with this money. Come with suggestions for a big trip (spring break?)
  • In the future, please email Carlos ( carloco(AT)nmt.edu) if you see that the recycling dumpster is full. He will take care of it.
