The Problem Solving with TRIZ course begins Wednesday, January 23rd at 2 PM. If you will be participating from a remote (non-NMT) location, please call the NMT Distance Education Office toll-free at (866) 644-4887 to learn where the polycom (videoconferencing unit) is for your site.

Google Group (This group will be used for asynchronous discussion during the TRIZ course and will be open to course participants. If you are enrolled in the course, please email me a valid Google ID you can use during the TRIZ course and I will add it to the Google Group membership list.
Credits and costs:
The course ES 589 - Problem Solving with TRIZ may be taken for 1-3 credits (higher credits will have additional assignments). For participants not on the NMT campus, the course will cost approximately $350 (distance education and tech support fee) + $205/ credit hour = $555 (1 credit version).
The IAS may be providing some scholarships to cover these costs for some participants from LANL; this has not yet been finalized.
Enrollment information:
At this point, enrollment will be coordinated by the NMT Distance Education office -- faculty, staff, and grad students who would like to participate from UNM, NMSU, and LANL can do the following:

Visit banweb.nmt.edu and click on "Apply for Admission"

Click on "First time user account creation" and enter a Password and PIN of your own choice; anything you wish. Continue to next page.

Select "Special Graduate - Non-degree" from the pull-down menu and
click "Continue" -
For "Admission Term" select Spring 2008. Fill out the other fields and then click "Fill Out Application"

Download the instructions - there is a set of instructions specific to special graduate students. Complete the online checklist items 2-7 (name, permanent address, mailing address, personal information, previous college, additional information).

Click "Application is Complete"

Call the NMT Distance Education Office toll-free at (866) 644-4887 (in Socorro, call 835-6908) and let them know you have just submitted this online application for admission and that you would like to take the Problem Solving with TRIZ course in the spring, course number ES 589D. The NMT Distance Education Office will assist you through the rest of the registration/setup process.
Note: Official transcripts are no longer required to complete the application process (this legacy requirement can be found in the downloadable instructions - see step 5, above). New Mexico Tech faculty and students: Please register for ES 589 (CRN: 38183).
